DC may look like a guy who doesn’t take his sport seriously but don’t let his looks fool you. A fierce striker, this MMA athlete was born on the 20th of March 1979 in Lafayette, Louisiana, the USA. This heavyweight fighter, who weighs in at 236 lbs, began his career as a wrestler. He won the Louisiana state championships in wrestling thrice whilst he was in school. Upon completing high school, this American attended Colby Community College and then went to Oklahoma State University, where he excelled in the sport. As a wrestler, he went around the world representing his country and even took part in the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games.
It was after the 2008 Games that he decided to give MMA a try. DC started working on his striking and trained with some renowned coaches at the American Kickboxing Academy. He debuted as a professional in September 2009 and won his first title, the XMMA Heavyweight Championship, in July 2010. Following this, he signed with Strikeforce and remained with them until 2013 before coming to the UFC.
