Bio

This Archetypal Inside-Out Scorer plays as a center for the Memphis Grizzlies. Known to successfully back down his opponents, the Lithuanian is a putback boss. At 6'11", he's an all-round rebound chaser. Born in Utena, Lithuania, the LKL's MVP of 2012 began playing professionally with Perlas Vilnius in 2008. Moving to Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius in 2010, he made three appearances in the LKL Finals winning it in his very first year. considered a top prospect, thanks to his performances back home, the center was selected by the Toronto Raptors in the 2011 edition of the NBA Draft. He was picked fifth overall in Round 1 but did not sign his contract until July 2012. Debuting for the Canadian franchise in October that year, he played for them for 7 seasons before being traded to the Grizzlies. The former two-time FIBA Young Player of the Year has continued to repay the faith that the Grizzlies have in him. He's looking forward to an interesting future with them now.
