One of the most freakish NBA power forwards/centre with a combination of quickness, skill, and strong play, this player was born on the 19th of July 1985, in Dallas, Texas. Listed as one of the top 5 best centre players in the nation and considered as a 5-star recruit in high school, this forward attended the University of Texas, Austin. It didn’t take him long to join the league, though. He decided to leave his college career and made himself available for the 2006 edition of the NBA Draft. He was selected as the second overall pick by the Chicago Bulls and traded to the Portland Trail Blazers immediately. His performances as a rookie were excellent, and in the following seasons, he continued to elevate his game. He stayed with the Trail Blazers for nine years before signing with the San Antonio Spurs in 2015. The player is a seven-time NBA All-Star and became the Trail Blazers all-time leader in rebounds in 2015. This athlete moved to the Brooklyn Nets in 2021, but a heart condition that had plagued him for years had finally caught up. The Texan has announced his retirement from the game in April 2015. Although it pains us to see him go, we understand that health comes above all.
