Born on October 27th, 1986, in Memphis, Tennessee, this shooting guard/point guard was one of the top-ranked high school players in the United States. He was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and the second all-time leading scorer in Georgia high school basketball history. He first committed to play college basketball at the University of Georgia but entered the 2005 NBA draft instead. He was selected as the 45th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers and spent his first seven seasons with the franchise. His development in the NBA was slow due to not having sufficient minutes on the court. Eventually, he developed as a unique player and the “sixth man” of his team. This reputation would follow him throughout his career. In 2012 this SG/PG signed with the Atlanta Hawks. In 2014 he was traded to Toronto Raptors and became the first member of the franchise to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2015. In the same year, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, and in 2 years, he recorded some pretty impressive stats. This guard became the first player after Kobe Bryant to score at least 38 points in consecutive games. The man from Memphis also had great averages coming from the bench. In 2017 the player was traded to the Houston Rockets, and due to the draft trade deal, he ended up in the Los Angeles Clippers. As a Clipper, he was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year again in 2018 and 2019. He became the second player in NBA history to receive this award thrice. He was traded to the Hawks in March 2021.
