Born in Long Beach, California, on November 12, 1988, this American professional basketball player in his early life lost his best friend with whom he had hopes of going to UCLA. A lack of height meant he did not receive any recruitment letters from universities until his senior year when he began putting in good averages. This point guard did not attract much attention from top college basketball programs, but eventually, the UCLA Bruins offered him a scholarship. In his second season at UCLA, he was named a starter and won the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year. Deciding to enter the NBA draft in 2008 after just two years at UCLA, he was selected as the 4th overall pick by the Seattle Supersonics, and then, just in few days, this point guard signed with them, except they were now called the Oklahoma City Thunder. Being with them for more than ten years, he accomplished a lot there. He set the record for the most triple-doubles in a season, and this nine-time NBA All-Star led the league in scoring in 2014/2015 and 2016/2017. This player earned the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in the 2016/2017 season. Known for his intensity during the whole game, he signed with the Houston Rockets in July 2019. The man remained with the Rockets for a season before being traded to the Washington based Wizards in December 2020.
