This powerful Colombian striker and his goal scoring abilities in the mighty stingy Serie A have become noteworthy of late. He has proven to be a star performer with the Bergamo based side, Atalanta. His breakthrough season was in 2018-19, and his goals helped them finish 4th in the Serie A, consequentially earning Atalanta a place in the 2019-20 Champions League. His achievements didn't come easy to him, and he had to face a very difficult journey in Italy acclimatizing to the culture, and its football. He transferred from the Argentine club Estudiantes to Napoli in 2013. But his stay in Naples was limited as he'd spend extended loan spells at Udinese and Sampdoria before the Genoa-based club decided to purchase him. He holds the dubious distinction, a much-unwanted one, of never having played for Sampdoria whilst being owned by them. He was loaned out to Atalanta, where he has truly shined. His earliest football education was received in Colombia, both as a senior and a youth, with América de Cali. Standing at a 189cms, he might not be the most graceful person to move on a football pitch. Nonetheless, his positioning and finishing abilities combined with a wicked shot and a sturdy header make him a lethal scoring machine. Sans any dual citizenship, he plays for the Colombian team in the international scene. He has also performed for them at the Under-20 level.
