Fabián Ruiz

Throwback: Back in the day mom used to drive young Ruiz around in this humble motorcar. Things have changed since then but the humble footballer is not one to flash his wheels on social media.

Fabián Ruiz was born in Los Palacios y Villafranca, Spain, on April 3rd, 1996. He currently plays in midfield for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and Spain. Fab possesses a wand of a left foot, he is a silky dribbler with good vision and technique, capable of playing numerous positions. As a kid, he used to play up front a lot, but his size eventually had him fall back to midfield. Early in his career, Ruiz joined Real Betis' academy aged eight and turned professional with Los Verdiblancos in 2014, however, it wasn't until 2017 that he established himself as a first-team regular under coach Quique Setién. His breakthrough season convinced Serie A club Napoli to pay his buyout clause of €30 million. In Italy the Spaniard was a super success. The 2019/20 Coppa Italia added to his 22 goals and 15 assists in 166 games for the Neapolitans. His form led to a first call up for the Spanish National Team, with Fab making his debut on June 7th, 2019, against the Faroe Islands. In the summer of 2022, the midfielder joined French club PSG.
