The young up and coming center half from Hamburg has dominated the Bundesliga in recent seasons and has established himself as one of the vital cogs for both club and country. Tah spent five years in HSV’s academy before making the step up to first-team football. His Bundesliga debut was not a memorable one as his side were comfortably beaten 2-0 by a strong Werder Bremen side. His time at his come club didn’t produce anything fruitful. However, his move to current club Leverkusen in 2015 changed the fortunes of both club and player. Just after a season with his new club, Joachim Low handed him his Germany debut against England. Once again, the defender ended up on the losing side, a 2-3 defeat. He replaced the injured Antonio Rudiger in the national side for the 2016 UEFA European Championships. A tall and powerful presence at the back, Tah combines power and precision to perfection. A capable tackler having exemplary ball playing abilities, he can find his marker with ease. Blessed with a good amount of pace, the German has no qualms in running behind the strikers, only to win back the ball on most occasions. With the likes of Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng being handed the pink-list by Low, expect the youngster to become a mainstay in the national team for years to come.
