Julio Pleguezuelo

Julio José Pleguezelo was born in Palma de Mallorca. He is a Spanish football player who prefers to play as a centre defender or as a right back. He started his career at the youth academy of Espanyol. He played for Espanyol from 2004 till 2010. He then moved to Atletico Madrid. However, one year later he already signed at one of the biggest clubs in the world, FC Barcelona. When he signed at Barcelona there were already rumours that he would move to Premier League sides such as Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. And ofcourse.. Arsenal! After some time in 'Catalunya' he decided to move to England. In England he saw more chance on playing games in the first team. In July 2013 he signed a contract at Arsenal. Soon he became a key player in The Gunners' U18 team. Arsenal rewarded him with his first professional contract. During the season 2015-2016 he became the captain of Arsenal U21. Under his leadership they won the 2016 U21 Premier League 2 play-off final over Aston Villa. He made his debut in the first team of Arsenal versus Blackpool in October 2018. In the meanwhile he played on loan for RCD Mallorca in the Segunda Division. and for Gimnastic de Tarragona. In the summer of 2019 he made the move to the Netherlands. He signed a two year deal with an option for another year at FC Twente.
