Player Bio

Welcome to the Wiki of The Pigeon. This versatile left back was born in Madrid, Spain and he joined the youth academy of Real Madrid in 1999. He actually played 1 game for Real Madrid after that but he was never seen as a very big talent in the Spanish capital. In 2010 he made the move to Bolton Wanderers where he played for 3 years, 2 in the Premier League and 1 in the Championship, England's second highest professional division. He then went to Fiorentina, where he played for 4 years. In Florence he finally started to make a name for himself and Chelsea contracted the Spaniard in 2016. In London he quickly became the starting left back because of his strong play on the ball as well as his ability to score goals from set pieces. Oddly enough, for such a good left back, he has not played a whole bunch of games for the Spanish national team. This is obviously mostly due to the fact that Jordi Alba, one of the best left backs in the world, is Spanish as well. Nevertheless The Pigeon has played a few games for La Roja but he has never made it to a FIFA World Cup or a UEFA European Cup.
