This Dutch central midfielder owns the middle of the park like a boss. He is capable of taking on multiple positions in the middle but is best known for being a rock-solid defensive asset to his team, earning him the moniker- The Wavebreaker. Born in the humble town of Zwijndrecht, Netherlands, his career began as a youth player with ASWH. He also spent considerable amounts of time with the academies of Rotterdam based clubs Feyenoord and Sparta. Although he made his senior debut with Sparta Rotterdam, his senior career has been a lot more nomadic than he would have liked. He enjoyed three seasons with Heerenveen, a year each with Atalanta and then Middlesbrough before deciding to re-sign for his Serie A side of choice- Atalanta in 2017. His return stint has been more productive, and he even helped his team qualify for the Champions League at the end of the 2018-19 season. Known to be a solid player, his natural abilities on the pitch are displayed to the best when he's intercepting play or making those hard tackles. He has extraordinary stamina and is quite aggressive when there's a need for it. His reactions are also quite ascertainable when he's on the ball or when he has lost it. This Dutchman plays for his country's senior squad and has featured a lot more in the past two years. He also has three appearances as an Under-19 player of his country's football team.
