Born on May 5th, 1996 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, he started with local club Trafaria’s youth academy at the age of 11 before moving to Portugal at 14 to join up with Sporting CP. After continuous progression through the ranks he found himself called up to the first-team in 2015 by manager Jorge Jesus. On 1 October 2015, he made his debut for Sporting CP in a 1-1 draw against Turkish club Besiktas J.K. in the qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Come the end of the month the winger scored his first professional goal, opening his account against U.D. Vilafranquense in the Taça de Portugal to help seal a 4-0 win. In the summer of 2018 the Brazilian wide-man would move on a season long loan to German club FC Nürnberg. He made his Bundesliga debut a fortnight later featuring in a 1-1 draw against SV Werder Bremen. On 30 March 2019, the boy from Belo scored his first goal in Germany helping his team defeat FC Augsburg 3-0. His impressive displays got him a move to English club West Bromwich Albion, initially on loan but with view to a permanent move. The Brazilian speedster made 42 appearances in the EFL Championship, scoring 8 goals and bagging an impressive 20 assists to help West Brom secure qualification to the Premier League. He was voted the ‘WBA Supporters Player of the Season’ for his efforts.
