Chappy, aka Hurtado, is a Major League Baseball third baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays. He was born on April 28, 1993, in Victorville, California. El Toro High School in Lake Forest, California, is his alma mater. He enrolled at California State University, Fullerton, where he played college baseball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans after being undrafted in the 2011 MLB draft out of high school. Chappy was drafted in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics. The young man made his professional debut with the Arizona League Athletics at the Rookie-level. After just three games, he was promoted to the Class-A Beloit Snappers. He's also played for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, the Double-A Midland RockHounds, and the Class A-Advanced Stockton Ports. The youngster made his major league debut on June 15, 2017. This player is known for being a top-tier defender with great range, arm strength, and arm accuracy. A three-time Gold Glove Award winner, this Californian was traded to the Blue Jays on March 16, 2022.
