Player Bio
Sunshine is a 6'4" behemoth who pitches for the San Diego Padres in MLB. He was born on December 21, 1990, in Jacksonville, Florida, and attended Wolfson High School in his hometown. Upon graduation, he went to The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, to pursue further education. Whilst there, he represented The Citadel Bulldogs baseball team. After just one year, he moved to the Seminole State College of Florida and even spent a summer playing for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Following this, he decided to become a pro and made himself available for the 2011 edition of the MLB Draft. Sunshine was picked by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the fourth round of that edition. As a pro, he first appeared for the Orem Owlz before being promoted to the Cedar Rapids Kernels. His time with the Angels did not yield results, and he was sold to the Indians in August 2014. He played for Akron RubberDucks before the Cleveland Indians gave him his MLB debut on May 18, 2016, against the Reds. The Indians sold him to the Padres in August 2020.
