Player Bio
Goldy plays as a First Baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals in MLB. The Cardinals No.46 debuted in the major leagues on August 1, 2011, for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Goldy was born on September 10, 1987, in Wilmington, Delaware, and is a six-time All-Star. This young man was raised in The Woodlands, Texas, and attended The Woodlands High School, where he was a member of the baseball team. Despite being taken in the 49th round of the 2006 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Goldy enrolled at Texas State University to play college baseball for the Texas State Bobcats. This four-time Silver Slugger Award winner began his professional career in 2009 when the Arizona Diamondbacks selected him in the eighth round, 246th overall, in the MLB draft. He agreed to terms with the Diamondbacks and received a $95,000 signing bonus. Goldy began his career with the Rookie-level Pioneer League's Missoula Osprey, then moved on to the Class A-Advanced California League's Visalia Rawhide and the Class AA Southern League's Mobile Bay Bears. This four-time Gold Glove Award winner was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals on December 5, 2018. He has been with them since.
