Born in Tegueste, Spain, on November 25th, 2002, his youth career was split between local club Tegueste, Juventud Laguna, and UD Las Palmas. In 2019, still in his teens, he turned pro, signing a long term deal with Las Palmas before being called up to the senior side by manager Pepe Mel. His debut came on August 18th, 2019, in the Segunda División against SD Huesca. A month later, the teenage sensation opened his account with a goal against Sporting de Gijón, making him the youngest ever goalscorer in the clubs history. In his solitary season with La Union Deportiva the attacking midfielder played in 37 games, scoring 4 goals and creating 7 for his teammates, helping the club to a top ten finish in the domestic league. His mercurial talents caught the eye of scouts from FC Barcelona; the Spanish giants paid a fee of €5 million to sign the young starlet to a long term contract on July 1st, 2020. Pedri made his debut for Blaugrana in a La Liga fixture against Villarreal in game that finished 4-0 to the Catalan club. The Spaniard found the back of the net for Barca during his UEFA Champions League outing against Hungarian club Ferencváros. On the international stage Pedri has represented Spain at U17s, U17s, U19s, and U21 levels.
