Perr Schuurs

The Dutchman's love for the waters and boats are well documented. So it comes as no surprise to see him behind the wheels of a boat rather than car.

Born on November 26th, 1999, in Nieuwstadt, Netherlands, he was the son of a professional Dutch handball player, and from an early age carried the aspirations of being a sportsman himself. The dutchman found an affinity for the football and began his training with the youth system of FC RIA at a young boy before moving to the academy at Fortuna Sittard in 2011. He made continuous progress through the ranks and in October 14th, 2016, was given his debut for the club against VVV-Venio in the Eerste Divisie. The defender opened his account in the beginning 2017 with a goal against Jong Ajax in a match which finished 5-2 in Fortuna’s favour. Seen as a natural leader on the pitch, the following season saw the 17-year old centre back wear the captain’s armband. His performances were equal to the distinction and it wasn’t long before Eredivisie giants AFC Ajax came calling, and In January 2018 the Dutchman signed a long term contract with Holland’s most decorated club. Initially he was loaned out first to Fortuna Sittard and then to Jong Ajax to help develop his game by getting him regular first-team opportunities. On October 7th, 2018 the promising defender made his debut for Ajax in the Eredivisie in a 5-0 win over AZ Alkmaar.
