Player Bio

Pierre Gasly was born in Rouen, France on February 7th, 1996. His grandfather and father, Jean Jacques, were both involved in motorsport, which meant the Frenchman was already behind the steering wheel by the age of six! Gasly finished in 3rd place during his debut season in French F4, and was crowned Formula Renault European Champion in 2013. Two years later, Gasly became a reserve driver for Red Bull in F1, while simultaneously competing in GP2; the following year he became the GP2 champion. At the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix, Gasly made his longed for Formula One race debut replacing Daniil Kvyat in the Toro Rosso. Back at Red Bull Pierre would struggle with the increasing demands to match up to teammate Max Verstappen, and after only 12 races the decision was made to swap him with Alex Albon. So it was back to Toro Rosso (now rebranded AlphaTauri) for the fallen Frenchman. Never one to give up, Pierre would clinch his first podium finish in the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix. He would top this feat in the 2020 Italian Grand Prix to secure his first win in Formula One.
