Player Bio

Salvy is a Venezuelan-American catcher for the Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals. He was born in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela, on the 10th of May 1990. Raised by a single mum, this young man was made to focus his attention on baseball to keep him from trouble. Deciding to become a catcher when he was fourteen years old, this seven-time All-Star signed with the Kansas City Royals when he was just sixteen. This four-time Silver Slugger Award winner got his professional debut in the minor leagues in 2007 when he appeared in the Arizona Complex League. As a minor league player, this five-time Gold Glove Award winner has played for the Burlington Royals, Idaho Falls Chukars, the Wilmington Blue Rocks of High-A, Northwest Arkansas Naturals of the Double-A and the Omaha Storm Chasers of Triple-A. This young man who became a World Series champion and named the World Series MVP in 2015 got his first taste of the major leagues when he debuted for the Royals against the Tampa Bay Rays on August 10, 2011. His journey has been nothing short of phenomenal, and we're expecting him to achieve even more in MLB.
