Hi there WTFoot fan and or follower. We are so very happy to have you here at the Wiki of one of Belgium's most interesting players. De Kleine Generaal (the little General) was born in 1988 but he is still going strong. After having played in several countries across Europe he is currently playing for Burnley in the English Premier League. He started his career in Belgium, first at his hometown team Mechelen, in the Youth Academy, and later on in Genk; there he made his professional debut in 2004. He played a whole bunch of years for Standard Liege after that, before joining FC Porto in 2011. After several successful seasons in Portugal he went back to his homecountry to play for the traditional Belgian giants Anderlecht. Burnley became interested in his services though and they attracted him in 2016, right after they had promoted to the Premier League. At Burnley he has helped the club remain in the Premier League and he played an important role, especially for the younger players. The Little General can be considered a true warrior on the pitch. He also played a lot of games for the Belgian national team, the Belgian Red Devils. He retired in 2018 having played 52 games for the national team, having scored 2 goals for the Belgians.
