Player Bio

This New York Yankees right fielder was born on April 26, 1992, in Linden, California. The Judge went to Linden High School and was a three-sport athlete. He was on the baseball team as a pitcher and first baseman, the football team as a wide receiver, and the basketball team as a centre. The Judge was drafted in the 31st round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft by the Oakland Athletics, but he chose to attend California State University, Fresno (Fresno State) and play baseball for the Fresno State Bulldogs of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). In the summer of 2012, the youngster also played collegiate summer baseball with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Judge was selected 32nd overall in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Yankees. This youngster received a $1.8 million signing bonus when he signed with the Yankees. In 2014, he made his professional debut with the Class A South Atlantic League's Charleston RiverDogs. During the same season, he was promoted to the Tampa Yankees of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League. In June 2015, the Judge was promoted to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders of the Class AAA International League from the Trenton Thunder of the Class AA Eastern League. The Judge began the 2016 season with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before making his MLB debut on August 13, 2016, against the Tampa Bay Rays. This three-time All-Star team member has been a Yankees man since.
