Player Bio

Mondi, who was born on July 27, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, can play shortstop, second base, and third base. He is a professional baseball player for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball. This young man is the son of former MLB player Raúl Mondesi. Although he was born in the USA, this young man grew up in his father's homeland, the Dominican Republic. Mondi, aka Ace, was a natural and followed in his dad's footsteps. There was no question in his mind as to what he wanted to do. Whilst we don't have a lot of information about his early days, we do know that this young man's very first appearance as a professional came after the Royals signed him on July 27, 2011. He debuted for the Idaho Falls Chukars of the Rookie-level Pioneer League in 2012. He went on to play for the Lexington Legends of the Class A South Atlantic League, Wilmington Blue Rocks of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League, and Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League after that. Before joining the major leagues, he played for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals of the Class AA Texas League. This youngster's MLB debut came for the Royals against the New York Mets on October 30, 2015. A World Series champion, he was also the AL stolen base leader in 2020.
