Still a relative unknown the Englishman used to zip around in an Audi during his loan spell with The Peacocks. All that would change as the centre-back made great strides under the tutelage of Marcelo Bielsa making the 2019/20 EFL Championship Team of the Season.

Born in the coastal town of Poole, England, he spent the majority of his youth career with Southampton FC before moving to Brighton & Hove Albion when he was sixteen to complete his development. With The Seagulls promotion to the Premier League the teenage defender realized he had to go out on loan if he was to play regular first-team football. The defender tried out his chops in League Two with Newport County in 2017/18, followed by a short spell in League One with Peterborough United in 2018/19, but it was in 2019/20 season that his career would jumpstart under one of the most innovative managers in the modern game, Marcelo Bielsa. The central-defender proved a central cog in Bielsa’s vision of how his team operated largely due his impressive passing range and the ability to play different positions on the pitch. White played every game he was available for as Leeds United finished top of the EFL Championship to earn promotion to the Premier League. Impressive displays for parent club Brighton in England’s top-flight the following season convinced English giants Arsenal to part with £50 million for the defender’s services. White made his debut in a 2-0 defeat away to newly promoted Brentford in the opening round of the 2021/22 Premier League season.
