Daniel James was born in 1997 in Kingston upon Hull in England. At the age of 9 he joined the youth academy of Hull City in 2006. He was regarded as one of the most promising players of the youth academy. In 2014 he joined Swansea City who bought him for 72.000 Pound (80.000 Euro). He immediately joined the U18 squad of Swansea City. Already in his first year he made some impressive appearances in this squad. In January 2016 he was included for the first time in the first-team for the FA Cup game against Oxford United. He was offered a three-year contract at Swansea City the following week. In June 2017 he moved on loan to League One club Shrewsbury Town until the end of the season. He never played a single match for Shrewsbury Town though, and his loan deal was terminated in August 2017. He failed to find his way into the starting 11. Disillusioned he moved back to Swansea City. In February 2018 he made his official first team debut in the 8-1 FA Cup victory over Notts County. The youngster came in the field in the last minutes of the game and still managed to score a goal in the 82nd minute. Soon he finally realised his great potential and became on of the regulars in the first team of Swansea City. In June 2019 it was announced that James would move to Manchester United for a reported fee of 15 Million Pound (20 Million Euro). He signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford.
