Big Fundy is a New York Yankees infielder. This No. 26 was born in Visalia, California, on July 13, 1988. This player went to Bloomfield Township's Brother Rice High School. He was a shortstop and pitcher for the baseball team at his high school. After his senior year at Brother Rice, he was drafted in the 41st round of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers. He didn't sign with Detroit in order to go to college. This three-time All-Star team member enrolled at LSU to play college baseball for the Tigers. Big Fundy also played for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2008, in between his only two college baseball seasons. With the 79th overall pick in the 2009 MLB draft, the Chicago Cubs picked Big Fundy as their player. Following the draft, he played for the Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League. He has also played for the Daytona Cubs of the Florida State League's Class A-Advanced division, the Tennessee Smokies of the Class AA Southern League, and the Iowa Cubs of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League. The infielder was traded to the Rockies in 2011 and remained with them until 2018. In early 2019, the youngster signed with the Yankees and has been there since.
