Born in Norfolk, England, on February 15th, 1998, Russ showed a keen interest in karting at an early age and success would soon follow. In 2014 he took a step up to Formula Renault and finished in 4th position come the end of the season despite being maligned by illness. Russ would go on to compete in FIA Formula 3 European Championships for the next couple of years, finishing 3rd in 2016. 2017 saw him emerge as the GP3 champion, and the following year he'd repeat the feat in Formula Two. In 2019 he signed for Williams to race in Formula One. He'd have to wait some time before scoring his first points in the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix. Then in Belgium he secured P2 in qualifying, and went on to clinch his maiden podium finish on race day. In 2022 the Briton joined Mercedes to partner seven time world champion Lewis Hamilton. In his first-ever race for Mercedes George finished in 4th position signifying big things to come for the Silver Arrow.
