No drivers license, but already practicing with a Squad! Together with his brother Jake during their holidays in Thailand. James is the guy in the middle!

James Garner signed his first professional contract in May 2018 when he was only 17 years of age. In the summer of the very same year the Red Devils rewarded him with his development and took him on tour to the United States during the pre-season tour squad. During this trip a lot of players of Man U were involved in the 2018 World Cup, so Jose Mourinho promoted a number of youngster to the first team, especially for this big trip! And ever since little James is part of the first-team and was included for some Champions League games as well. What kind of player is he? Well, he prefers to play as a defensive midfielder but James aka 'Jimmy' is also able to play at the centre back position. He has been representing the national youth teams of England such as the U17 team, in which he used to be the captain. In the summer of 2018 he led England U17 to the semi-finals of the European U17 Championship. When he signed his first professional contract at Old Trafford he was all smile and extremely happy. He stated in an interview: "Wow. This is what I have been working for since the U8. Im very proud for myself, but also for my family. But.. I think this is only the start!". Well said, James. It's not a secret that his idol is Michael Carrick. Fun fact is that Carrick and Garner work together now since the old captain is member of the technical management at Old Trafford. Garner will surely learn a lot of him. Good luck in the future, lad!
