A warm welcome to WTFoot readers from all over the world. Welcome to the wiki of this Italian midfielder who was actually born in Brazil. At the age of 15 he moved to Italy. He applied for Italian citizenship thanks to his grandfather, who has the Italian nationality as well. Because of that he is playing for the Italian national team and not the Brazilian one. He joined the youth academy of Verona in 2007 and subsequently he also made his debut for the team from Verona in 2010. After several seasons playing for Verona he made the move to Napoli in 2013. In the south of Italy he really started to make a name for himself as one of the best midfielders in the Serie A. He played in Napoli for 5 years before Chelsea became interested in acquiring his services in the summer of 2018. They bought the midfielder for an astonishing fee of 56 Million Euro (50 Million Pound). They also gave the Italian one of the highest salaries of the whole squad. As we already said he is also playing international football. He choose to play for the Italian team, the Azzurri, and he made his debut in the famous blue shirt in 2016. The midfielder has since regularly been a part of the selection. A team that, to everybody's surprise, did not manage to make it to the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
