Nico Schlotterbeck is a German footballer who is currently signed to Borussia Dortmund. He was born in 1 December 1999, and played youth football for VfR Aalen, Karlsruher SC and SC Freiburg. The defender signed his first professional contract with Freiburg and made his debut for his boyhood club in March 2019, in a 2-1 win against Hertha BSC. The big bruising centre-half had his breakout year during 2020/21 campaign and was selected in the Bundesliga Team of Season.Freiburg also reached the final of the DFB Pokal but lost to RB Leipzig on penalties. Nico made 56 appearances for Breisgau-Brasilianer before moving to Dortmund in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of €20 million.
