He was born in Willemstad in Curaçao, an island in the southern of the Caribbean Sea and is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. His moved to Rotterdam in the Netherlands at a very young age to focus on his football career. He joined Feyenoord at the age of 10, and almost immediately attracted interest of several other big international clubs. When he was 16 he participated with Feyenoord at the Manchester Premier Cup at the Carrington Training Ground, and is there where the scouts of Man. U spotted him. They kept following him and two years later, when Chelsea also became interested, they managed to finally sign him. He left Feyenoord in April 2016 and said that Feyenoord 'did not have a clear plan with him'. His family also moved to England and so the adventure began. In July 2018 he as called up for the first team for the first time, and he joined the Red Devils on the pre-season tour in the United States. He made his debut for the first team in a game against Club America (1-1) and started the next game against San Jose Earthquakes (0-0). He made his official debut against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League.
