Biography
Foki was born on the 5th of June 1999 in Málaga, Spain. He was just two and a half years old when he picked up a racket and started playing this sport. It was with his father. This young man has come a long way since. Realising that his son had a talent, his dad sent him to La Cala del Moral to train with coach Manolo Rubiales. When he was ten years old, he began working with Jorge Aguirre. The man has been his coach to this day. It has been a winding journey for this Spaniard. He saw immediate results at the U12 level. He became the Spanish champion, a feat he repeated at the U15 and U18 levels too. As a sixteen-year-old, he left home to continue his tennis education. His time away from home helped him mature as a person and improved his game drastically. He won the 2017 Wimbledon Boys title as a junior before going pro in 2018. That year was a good learning curve for him. In 2019, this young man won two Challenger titles. The next year, he won his first ATP doubles title and reached the fourth round of the US Open.
That was his best result yet. This aggressive player reached the quarters of the French Open and appeared in the Olympics in 2021. We’re looking forward to seeing him put in some better performances moving forward.
