Biography
How many of us here tried out a thing we’ve really liked watching on the telly, let alone pursue it to the ends of the world? Madi isn’t one of us, and that’s why she has earned a spot in one of our posts. This American lady was born on the 17th of February 1995 in Rock Island, Illinois. She began taking tennis lessons at the Quad-City Tennis Club in Moline and even competed in tournaments before moving to John Evert’s tennis academy when she was ten.
Four years later, she played her first-ever WTA match at Ponte Vedra Beach. Her pro career began then and there. A giant slayer, Madi defeated Serna Williams when she was just 14. It was then and there that she knew that she was going to be doing this for the rest of her adult life. This young woman had to wait until 2014 to win her maiden WTA title at the Eastbourne International tournament.
She was just nineteen then. In the following years, she has added five other titles to her kitty. The American rues her chance of not winning the US Open in 2017, but that’s well in the past.
