Biography
Encouraged by a mum who played tennis recreationally, this young woman’s journey so far has been nothing but breathtaking. As someone who was born in Ksar El Hellar, Tunisia, she was not expected to play sports professionally. She started out as a three-year-old, and it was more a hobby than anything else. If that’s what you thought, you’d be wrong. Ons began training to become a professional when she was four and worked with a coach named Nabil Mlika. Born on the 28th of August 1994, she played her premier event on the ITF Circuit in 2008.
Her professional journey began then. Ons made her WTA debut at the Qatar Open in 2012. Although she lost the match, her very first one, she took that in her stride, swallowed her pride, and went back to working on her game. The Tunisian identified areas she was lacking in and began to train harder. Thanks to this, she began seeing improvements in her performance. Ons had her breakthrough year in 2017, and it was her first Top 100 season as well.
This young Tunisian was living her dream. The first Arab woman to reach Round 3 in a Grand Slam, she is determined to become the first one to win a major too.
Ons Jabeur Husband
Ons is a tough girl, and to tackle her temperament, she needed a challenging guy. That person happens to be a one Mr Kamal Kamoun. He’s a Russian-Tunisian and used to be a fencer. The two of them married when she was 21 years old. Although it is unclear how they met, it is safe to assume that this was an arranged ceremony. As exciting as it may be, people from her part of the world do not go out and start dating people.

She believes that she has all the time in the world before she can start a family of her own. Does she, though?
