5. Daniele Rugani
Rugani had probably the most famous case of Corona in all of football. Immediately after he had received the bad news, the world took notice. The Champions League, Italian Serie A and pretty much all other major European leagues got put on hold. Word even had it that Cristiano Ronaldo, his Juventus teammate, tested positive but that was actually never confirmed. He is since been doing okay, and we at WTFoot are very happy about that.
4. Blaise Matuidi
Blaise had a particularly challenging time. He didn’t have any symptoms when he got the bad news after a test and as such he was extremely worried about this family and friends. The quarantine made him go mad, according to a recent interview. The Frenchman stated that he missed shopping, meeting with friends and family and he said he slowly got crazy from not being close to people. Sad stuff.
3. Ezequiel Garay
My year obviously hasn’t started well’, that is what Ezequiel said on Instagram after he told the world that he and several other Valencia teammates got the new virus from China. Time has passed since, and the Argentinian defender has been absolutely fine ever since. He just a big scare is all and we totally get that.
2. Eliaquim Mangala
Mangala learned that you can have the virus yet not have any symptoms whatsoever. That might have been known to most people but Eliaquim still got caught by surprise which is rather unfortunate. He did stay at home after he got sick though, which is very good. Several other Valencia teammates got the virus too but they are all okay by now.
1. Manolo Gabbiadini
Manolo, a respected player in Italy, posted a rather sad Instagram update. He said he felt guilty for (probably) infecting several teammates and other people with the new virus. His solution to the problem? Isolate himself for a couple of weeks. It took the Italian a few weeks but eventually he got rid of the Virus and he was eligable to play for the remainder of Serie A 2019-2020. Good stuff after all.
