David Sebastian Boyd was born on the 6th of February 1988 in Copenhagen, Denmark, to an Irish-American father and a Swedish-Danish mother. The lead singer of New Politics, this young man began writing songs when he was a youngster. In 2009, he and his bandmate Soren Hansen entered the Karriere Kanonen competition of Danish National Radio P3. New Politics was one of the 42 bands selected to perform from the 973 bands that applied. Joined by Louis Vecchio in 2010, the band went on to release five albums and has garnered a following too. David found success after he moved to New York in 2009. That’s when he met the love of his life too.
