She found the perfect path to attaining her goals when she joined After School, a girl group with an admissions and graduation concept. It was formed by the South Korean Entertainment company Pledis Entertainment in 2009. Soyoung was one of the five initial members of the group, with New Schoolgirl being her debut album with them. She worked with the group on another single called Diva before graduating to pursue an acting career.

The small screen came calling first.

Soyoung’s first role as an actor came in the television series, You’re Beautiful. It was a cameo appearance where she played a member of a fictitious girl group called Before School. Her next break was as Lee Se-ra in My Bittersweet Life. Another supporting role as Park Soon-dong ensued in Dream High 2. Following this, she acted as Kang Eun-bi in Miss Panda and Mr. Hedgehog. Two more supporting roles later, she got her first movie break. She played the role of Ji-Yeon in the 2017 South Korean drama film Beastie Girls. This young actress has also appeared in a variety show called King of Mask Singer in 2020.

How did she meet Son Heung-min?

Whilst the exact time of their meeting is not known, reports of the actress and the footballer first came out in November 2015. She was photographed with the footballer outside the Paju National Football Center, following which she confirmed her relationship. The actress was 29 and the Spurs man 23 when they began seeing each other.

This actress did think that she had found the one when she met Heung-min. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, their relationship ended even before it could begin blooming.
